Updates from the Fading Lands

KOSS is Finished!

YAY! With much celebration and delight, I am happy to announce that KING OF SWORD AND SKY, Book 3 in the Tairen Soul series, has left my weary little typing-fiend hands and raced across the magical, packet-switched Spirit weaves of the world wide web and internet email to reach the desk of my Light-blessed, very understanding and supportive editor (who despite my many delays and promises of "almost done!" did not send demons, Feraz witches or thirsty Drogan blood lords to encourage me to write faster). Beylah vo te Miora felah ti'Alicia!

The cover for the new book looks like this. Isn't it gorgeous? Yet again, the incredible, uber-talented Judy York has outdone herself! And the cover for QUEEN is even more gob-smackingly gorgeous! (Both covers are up on my Myspace page www.myspace.com/clwilsonbooks)

I will be posting the ISBN and release date information, along with an excerpt of KING, within the next couple of days, so watch this space!

Heading to Pittsburgh for RT Convention

I head out next week to the lovely land of steel, Pittsburgh, PA, for the 2008 Romance extravaganza, the Romantic Times Convention. This will be my very first time to attend RT. I'm really looking forward to it. On Thursday, at 3:00pm, I'll be participating in a Readers Round Robin event with Christine Feehan, Sandra Hill, Lora Leigh, Brenda Novak, and Mary Jo Putney. What a line-up!

I'll try to do some reports from the con on this blog. If you are going, drop me a line (cheryl@clwilson.com) and let me know. I'd love to get together! I'm really going to be trying to come out of my turtle shell - something very difficult for me when I'm outside my comfort zone. Put me in front of my writer's group, and I'll laugh and talk your ear off. Put me in a room with a bunch of people I don't know, and I try desperately to fade into the wallpaper. LOL. Then again, feed me a few drinks and I'll talk your ear off too - often in French! (Though perhaps now I should start talking Feyan, eh?)

Audio Books!!! Now you can hear the Fading Lands!

In some very cool news, I've just found out LORD OF THE FADING LANDS and LADY OF LIGHT AND SHADOWS are being made available as audio books! I shall be very interested in how the people are going to pronounce my Feyan names and Feyan words, as no one has asked me yet!!! I'll have to inquire about that. *gg*

Both sets are now available for preorder on Amazon.com. LORD OF THE FADING LANDS-Audio CD is scheduled to be released October 25, 2008 while the LADY OF LIGHT AND SHADOWS-Audio CD is scheduled for release September 25, 2008. (Don't ask me why LADY comes first - dunno! *gg*)

Call me a big dorky geek, but this is all so exciting to me! And I can't wait to hear what the voices sound like. My only exposure to audio books has been the amazing Harry Potter series recorded by Jim Butcher - wow, totally great.

Updates on the Poetry Contest

The poetry contest has been a smashing success. With over 70 fabulous poems entered, choosing the winners is going to be difficult! Voting starts next week. If you haven't yet checked out all the poetry, please give it a look. Some of the entries are truly amazing.

That's all the news that is news from the Fading Lands. The final steps in the truemate journey of Ellysetta and Rain begin very soon once I conclude all the mundane tasks of this world (taxes, bills, housecleaning). I hope you will enjoy it!

Cheers
Cheryl

I'm so glad the book is finished! I can not wait to read it. Every pnr site I post on I make sure to mention how fab your books are. We have a thriving pnr discussion board going on at the amazon forums and your books are loved by all. I'm sure we would love if you stopped by once in a while, we've had a couple of writers do so, it's always fun to get the authors comments. Keep up the fantastic work!

Thanks!! I'm so glad you all enjoy them. I have a hard time finding my way around the Amazon boards, but if you send me the link I'll be sure to pop in from time to time.

Cheers

I just spent the most wonderful Sunday reading Lord of the Fading Lands and though I'm so sad to be finished...the light in my potentially dark little tunnel is that I have another already released book to enjoy and another looming in the distance. Thanks c.l. for a wonderful story and characters that I genuinely adore!

Dear, I knew there were more books, but I thought they were finished already and your publisher was holding them to torture us! You are a writing Queen! I can't wait to get my hands on this...

I love the lady who thought enough about me to send me your books! I read the LOFL book and LOLS books in two days and then re-read the last 50 pages of LOLS again just to make sure I did not miss anything.

I can't wait to read the other two.

Ok SO I have been waiting for this book for a year and I am extremely excited for the King to come out! I do have a couple questions like Will we ever find out what the Elvish prophecy The Dance is and how Ellie is involved? I honestly have read the first two books at least 5 times each. You are an amazing author and I hope you never stop writing!

Hey Tucker,
very good question.

You will find out quite a bit more about the Dance. In fact, Ellie and Rain are visiting the Elves right now as I type this response! :)
